Attention All FCSDA Members: There will be a Town Hall meeting
on Sabbath, May 3rd directly after AY to discuss the current status
of G.E. Peters. All members are encouraged to attend.

Is
your TV ready for the switch to digital? On February 17, 2009,
television stations nationwide will switch from the old method of
transmitting television signals known as analog to new digital
broadcasts. Digital television provides crystal-clar pictures,
better sound, and more channels.
If you do
not subscribe to cable, satellite or another pay television service,
you may need a converter box to continue receiving free television.
The governement is offering $40 coupons that you can use towards the
purchase of a converter box. To apply for a converter box coupon,
cal 1888.DTV.2009 or visit www. DTV2009.gov.

2008 Camp Meeting - Registration forms are in for anyone
interested in attending this years' meeting. Camp meeting is taking
place June 26, 2008 thru July 6, 2008. Please see Helen Williams for
forms.

Old Time Youth Programs for Contemporary Ministry - Call for a
coordinator of one the following programs: Temperance/Oratorical
Contest, Essay/Jingle/Poster Contest, Black History Bowl, Bible
Bowl. If you are interested in developing any of these programs,

Upcoming Events |
|
Men’s Weekend will be May 30th -
31st. Friday, May 30th will be an open forum at 7:30 p.m. on
Mentor and Mentee. Power Hour at 8:00 with Pastor Juan Damon. The
topic will be “The Holy Sprit as Our Mentor”. Pastor McCleary will
speak on the importance of mentoring during the Divine Hour on
Sabbath, May 31st. There will also be an evening AYS program titled
“The Realization of Mentoring”.

HIV/AIDS & Breast Cancer Awareness
Day - The First Church of Seventh-day Adventists will be holding
our First Annual HIV/AIDS & Breast Cancer Awareness Day on June
14th, 2008. We will have a prayer breakfast, guest speakers, Cancer
Screening, HIV/AIDS Testing, and a luncheon for our community and
our members. The aim for the day is to educate members of our
congregation and community on Breast Cancer, and HIV/AIDS, heighten
awareness, illustrate community impact, identify risk factors, and
promote early detection. Please see any member of the Pastoral staff
if you have any question. We look forward to this day with great
anticipation, and hope that you will be blessed by it!

Shakespeare write like you? Well, even if you just do your thing, we
have the thing for you.
The Youth Department of the First
Church of Seventh Day Adventist presents the First Annual Creative
Art Extravaganza on August 2nd, 2008. There will be competitions in
painting, drawing, needle craft, sewing, poetry, fiction,
non-fiction writing and oratorical competition and much more.
And did we mention lots and lots of
prizes and surprises? You don’t have to be super, just love what you
do and By God Be Great in 2008.
