Mission:
 
The Mission of the Communications Department of The First Church of Seventh-day Adventists is to provide information that is relevant and informative to our church family and community. It is our duty to inform the world about the priorities, programs, and projects of the Church through our publications, and media. It is our goal to make the world community aware that this church is dedicated to fulfilling Christ’s commission.

Accomplishments:

Audio Visual

The Audio Visual department has grown, with the addition of a 32 ft. screen and a powerful Hitachi projector the ability to view the service has improved. The department has also added three 21 inch flat screen monitors on the pulpit and in the Mother's Room. We have added a Multimedia department that has enhanced our service with graphics that breathe life into worship and praise. The Church’s Tape Ministry has grown from taking order for tapes that would take up to a week to reproduce, to producing same day delivery of tapes, CD, and DVD.

Newsletter

Spread the Word, the First Church newsletter, has had a banner season. Since 2004, the church newsletter has been continuously running and providing our church with items of interest. This is the first time in church history that a newsletter has run continuously for more than one year. The church newsletter reports on church programs and highlights church departments . Members can share articles and can read messages from our pastors and much more. Spread the Word will continue to bless the church family through covering church events and giving members a platform to contribute items to share with the church.

Website

The Communications Department is providing First Church with the tools to create a global congregation; an on line congregation where individuals become spiritually and physically connected with our Church. Evidence of the work of this department is the development and maintenance of the Church’s website. Members now have access to church resources from anywhere there is an internet connection. Along with the website we have added live streaming video of our services and the convenience of being able to pay Tithes and Offerings securely online.
