Discipleship Ministry
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matthew 28:19-20)
There are five essential elements in discipleship: Evangelism, Fellowship, Teaching, Training, and Prayer.
Fellowship - We share our lives with
others and also with Christ who promises to be with us when even two or
three are gathered
Teaching - Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ. (Acts 5:42). Teaching someone Scripture helps develop heart, mind, vision, and character.
Prayer - A discipler should pray regularly for his or her disciples, as well as pray with them. By pouring into a few, developing them in the character and actions of Jesus, and equipping them to develop others, we can be used by God to make a great impact in reaching the world for Christ.
