Elder Board

"We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us."

(Philippians 4:13.)

First Church Elder Board

Mission:

The mission of the board of elders is to assist in providing spiritual guidance, nurturing and support for the membership, friends and visitors of the First Church of Seventh-day Adventists and the surrounding community.

Goals:

Support of Pastoral Staff: Realizing that our calling is to be co-leaders with the Pastoral staff the elders are committed to preach, teach, advice, encourage and assist the pastoral staff administratively.

Evangelism: Following the command of Jesus Christ, the elders are committed to make disciples of all who are willing to listen to the Gospel of Jesus Christ as it is outlined in the scriptures.

Nurturing: The elders are committed to contact, encourage and assist the membership and visitors of our church as well as community members. Contact is by telephone, letter, or visitation. Elders console and assist those who lose loved ones and those who are shut in because of illness, old age or other disabilities.

Special Activities of the Elders which demonstrate their commitment:
